With a wealth of green resources for faculty, staff, and students, UM Go Green — the heart of the University of Maryland’s (UM) commitment to sustainability — has launched online. The site can be found at http://gogreen.umaryland.edu/
“Through UM Go Green,” says Bob Rowan, MS, associate vice president, facilities and operations and chair of the University’s sustainability steering committee, “the University has an opportunity to embrace environmental stewardship in a new way. This tool assists the University in its efforts to significantlylimit the environmental impact of our campus and the surrounding community.”
The sustainability steering committee hopes that the website will be a vital part of the University’s efforts to educate and engage the community in the work of sustainability.
To learn about sustainability initiatives on campus, greening your office space and home, the University’s plans for becoming a carbon neutral campus or to get involved with sustainability on campus, look to UM Go Green.
