Robert Gallo, MD, the Homer & Martha Gudelsky Distinguished Professor in Medicine & Director of the Institute of Human Virology was featured on the front page of the July 25 issue of USA Today
, speaking out in an op ed on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17. Prominent HIV researcher Joep Lange, head of the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development and a longtime colleague of Dr. Gallo, was among those killed when the plane went down. He and other HIV/AIDS researchers were on their way to the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia.
